Bulova Brevet EPSA “Super Compressor”

The term “Super-Compressor” is applied to denote a specific type of patented watch case by manufacturer Ervin Piquerez S. A. whereby the design leverages the increased pressure at greater depths to create a greater seal.  These cases came in two different sizes, typically 42mm or 36mm. EPSA manufactured cases for a variety of brands - most notably Jaeger Lecoultre who’s super compressor references often fetch $30,000+.  

Case: The 36mm case shows wear commensurate with age; however it appears to not have been polished. Most wear can be observed on the caseback with superficial scratching throughout but nothing too deep. Both crowns are signed with bulova and are believed to be original. 

Dial: The dial, to me, appears all original. The lume on the hour markers matches the hands and has aged from white to more of a beige color. 

Movement: Bulova 11ALAC, 17 jewels, 18,000 bph. Service history is unknown. As such it is recommended to have the movement serviced prior to daily use. 

BRACELET: Comes on a genuine leather strap.
