Founded in 1955, Corum was based out of La Chaux-de-Fonds Switzerland. It was founded by a pair of gentleman, Gaston Ries and Rene Bannwart. Watches began production in 1956, where, soon thereafter, they introduced a watch made out of gold coins. These gold coin watches gained popularity over the years and were some of the companies best sellers.
