This is a lovely rolled gold plated Elgin from the 1940’s with barrel lugs and a rich black dial with stylized numerals and gilt sub-second. This is about as classic and elegant as you can get from a vintage tank style watch but the black dial and unusual indices gives it timeless appeal. It wears elegantly on black leather but vintage bracelets can really make this a show stopper.

ABOUT THIS WATCH:

DIAL: Original black gilt dial is in good shape. The dial has patinated to take on a more matte finish. It features Art Deco esque numerals at the 12, 3 and 9 oclock position. It also sports  a subsecond dial which was very classic for the time period of which this watch was made. The dial is completed by pencil style hands.

CASE: 10kt rolled gold plated over stainless steel case back. The case is in good shape with strong lines and bevels throughout. It features barrel styled lugs.
