      There is no doubt that the word "Calatrava" is trademark Patek. But the name has grown to denote a broader reach than just one of high horologies. It has grown as a synonym for similar appearing 3 handed time only manually wound dress watches from the mid 20th century. 
     Now we can sit here and argue what a true dress watch actually entails. If the purists had their way  it would only refer to a time only 2 handed hour and minute hand offering. Those less confined to such stringent standards tolerate the inclusion of a second hand so long as it is of the sub second configuration. 
      No matter which camp you reside there is this undeniable charm from this neglected and undervalued category of vintage watch collecting. There manually wound movements are tried and true. Wonderfully decorated complete in absence of a large rotor obstructing its beauty. The caveat being its beauty hidden by a solid caseback. The ultimate engagement in exercised restraint. Pure class.
     Then there are the dials. The hallmarks of this class being hand applied circular minute markers complete with pencil or alpha hands. Free of distracting text save for a companies signature just beneath the 12 o'clock hour marker. Yes, these manually wound dress watches from the mid 20th century are indeed one of the great offerings from the golden age of classical watchmaking and still relatively affordable considering this examples case size at 37mm - very relevant in the modern era. DIAL: The non-luminous white dial presents with small areas of micro bubbling that is more or less noticeable depending on the viewing angle. The dial features applied baton style hour markers. The applied minute markers feature very minimal decay indicating good preservation. The dial features alpha hour and minute hands. 

CASE: The previously polished 37mm solid pink gold case is in good condition. The hallmark is still visible on the posterior portion of one of the lugs. The case presents with light wear throughout commensurate with age. There is one small indentation on the 9 o'clock side of the case. 

MOVEMENT:  IWC manually wound caliber 89. Beautifully decorated manually wound movement that has just returned from service and comes with a 1 year mechanical warranty fulfilled by the watchmaker. Owner just needs to pay for the shipping. 

BRACELET: The watch is paired with which we believe accents the pink gold case beautifully.
