Vintage Omega 14774 SC-64

Case: The previously polished 34mm case shows wear commensurate with age. Most of the polishing seems to have taken place on the case back that still bears some scratches from attempting to open the case back utilizing improper tools. It is completed by its original crown; however, the crystal has been previously replaced.

Dial: The all original, white, sunburst dial is relatively clean save for some staining that can be noted between the 4-5 and 9-10 o’clock markers. There is also some light spotting that can be observed at certain angles as well. 

Movement: 17 jewel Omega automatic caliber 550. The cal. 550 is in the same family as the chronometer rated 551. It is hypothesized that 17 jewel variants were destined for the U.S market as the United States had heavy tariffs in place for movements greater than 17j; though, to be clear, it's not certain that is the case in this instance. The watch was timed over a 24hr period and compared with atomic EST. In that time period the watch lost 12 seconds. The service history is unknown and it is recommended to get the movement serviced prior to daily wear.
