Omega Constellation 2782 - Serviced w/ 1 year warranty.

     Omega introduced its “Constellation” line in the early 1950’s starting with the reference 2648. The Constellation was Omega’s top-of-the-line model, offering chronometre certified bumper automatic movements and a medallion on the caseback depicting an observatory with 8 stars - each of which represent the 8 records omega set Geneva observatory trials. 
   The reference 2782 is Omega's third generation Constellation model. Outwardly, it appears exactly like the more common reference 2852. However, one way to distinguish, aside from looking inside the caseback, is giving the watch a gentle rock back and forth. You'll feel a nice thud. That's coming from the 2782's bumper 354 - the 2852 has a full 360 degree rotating rotor. 
     I find the 2782 to be quite a collectable reference - in fact I own one in my personal collection. Early 2752 have the Omega signature written, not applied like the 2852. This 2752 is interesting in that it has a dial who's hour markers are applied in yellow gold yet it is encased in steel: a configuration that is more rare than steel on steel. The cherry on top is the crosshair on the dial, something that Omega collectors really love. We have it paired on a beads of rice bracelet and are pleased to offer it in our vintage watch shop.

CASE: The previously polished 35mm steel case is in good shape. The original bevel on the bezel is present and strong. The solid yellow gold medallion on the case back has been polished. The crystal and crown was replaced some time in the past. 

DIAL: The eggshell dial is in good shape. There is aging on the dial that is pretty even throughout with perhaps slightly more wear by the 3 o'clock hour marker. The dial features beautiful applied gold hour markers and is completed by crosshair configuration. The lume on the dial has aged to develop a beautiful warm patina and matches the hands perfectly. 

MOVEMENT:  Omega automatic bumper caliber 354. The watch is currently out for service. The watch will come with a one year mechanical warranty dated from 02/2025. 

BRACELET:  We have paired this beautiful Constellation with an Omega Beads of Rice Bracelet. The bracelet fits a wrist up to approximately 7.5 inches.
