Omega Constellation - 2852
Omega Constellation - 2852
Omega introduced its "Constellation" line in the early 1950's starting with the references 2648 and 2652. The constellation line was Omega's top of the line, time only offering fitted initially with there chronometer certified automatic bumper calibers 352 and 354. This example - a 2852 - is a very collectable and popular reference especially with its highly desirable pie-pan dial. The 2852 represents Omegas evolution and technical advancements as it was the first constellation reference to feature a fully automatic mechanical movement - the 5xx series.
ABOUT THIS WATCH
Omega Constellation
REFERENCE: 2852
YEAR: 1956

CASE: The 35mm gold cap over steel case has most likely seen a polish or 2 in the past. The case is still in good shape as evidenced by the strong edges on the lugs that articulate with the case. The caseback sports the desirably observatory medallion which is very well preserved and the original brushed finishing on the caseback itself can still be appreciated. The crystal has been replaced sometime in the past. The original, thick decagonal crown has seen some of the gold cap wear off and steel showing through.
DIAL: The original pie-pan crosshair has patinated to a light champagne color with light spotting throughout. The dial sports dagger hour indices with beautiful patina that matches the dauphine hands.
MOVEMENT: Omega automatic caliber 505 chronometer certified. Serviced in the past 2 years. Winds crispy, sets, and runs great. Keeping time +/- 5secs a day.
BRACELET: Comes on genuine leather strap. (Not the one pictured.)
ACCESSORIES: watch only.
