You might have noticed something a little bit different about the inside of the caseback of this watch. Is it perhaps that it looks particularly bare with its lack of various hallmarks or is it the “Industria Argentina” that is throwing you off? 

During the time period that this watch was produced, Argentina, similar to many other countries in the world, issued large import taxes on watches that were gold cased. To evade said taxes, companies, such as Omega, would import the dial, hands and movement and outsource the production of the case locally to a company within the country of destination. 

YEAR: 1969

CASE: The 34mm locally made Argentinian 18kt gold case is very strong. The lines on the lugs and midcase are sharp. There are some superficial faint scratches and light wear present commensurate with age. The crown is a replacement. 

DIAL: The original and untouched white dial sports some light specking throughout. The applied hour markers with black inlays give this watch a nice dressy feel. 

MOVEMENT: Caliber 565. Automatic caliber with a date function. Service history is unknown. As always, it is recommended to have the watch serviced prior to daily use. 

BRACELET:  Comes on a genuine leather strap.
