In 1948, Omega introduced it's Seamaster Line. Today, it remains Omega's longest continuous running production model. Originally, it was released with the advertising catch phrase: "For town, sea and country." A nod to the intent behind the design. A watch that could go anywhere and do anything. Perfect for every type of occasion, the Omega Seamaster was introduced with the references 2577 and 2576.
This example, a reference 2576, exemplifies what we love about vintage watches. Depending on the conditions of the life its lived, a watch will develop some unique characteristics. Presumably this watch spent a majority of its life in the hands of a smoker. As a result, its original white dial has patinated and taken on an amber gold hue. Ascertained from its serial number, this watch is an early example of a 2576 complete with drilled lugs and correct circular brushed screw down case back. We are pleased to offer this watch that arrived to us on consignment. Enjoy SCVW Fam!
