Rolex Datejust 16014 - Salmon - Box and Papers

     Rolex first introduced their now iconic Datejust in 1945 as a way to commemorate their 40th anniversary. The Datejust in and of itself was revolutionary, as it marked the first time a mechanical wristwatch featured a date complication. The new innovation was then encased in Rolex patented oystercase. This marked the production of the first waterproof wristwatch case that was made at scale. The Rolex Datejust remained largely unchanged for the better part of 6 decades. Over that time period, the Datejust saw variations in both bezel and dial designs. The dial variations included sunburst, tapestry, Buckley, pie pan, sigma and linen.

CASE: The previously polished 36mm stainless steel case is in good shape. The brushed anterior finish can be appreciated on all four lugs. The case retains strong lines. It presents with wear commensurate for its age. Please review the pictures as they are part of the description. 

DIAL: An original Rolex Salmon sunburst service dial. The original dial was presumably swapped out at Rolex during one of its past services. I rate it at a 7/10 with two small scratches toward the 9 o'clock side of the center of the dial. 

MOVEMENT: Automatic caliber 3035. The watch winds, sets, runs and keeps good time. Service history is unknown, although certainly serviced in the past. The watch was timed over 24hrs. Those 24hrs included periods of wear and non-wear and compared to atomic EST. Over those 24hrs the watch seconds. 

BRACELET: Original jubilee bracelet with 555 end links. 18 links. Minimal stretch as evidenced by photographs. 

ACCESSORIES: Comes with the original hang tag, outer box, inner box, informational pamphlet and papers.

BOX/PAPERS: Yes.
