Rolex Datejust 16234

The Datejust- the quintessential Rolex, and while two tone fluted bezel datejusts are what typically comes to mind when considering a dress vintage Rolex, today we have a 16234. 

The monochromatic nature of the 16234 allows for the Datejust to be a little more versatile. Its obviously an ace in the dress department but can be dressed down for a more casual or understated look.  

The 16234 was introduced around 1988 - an extremely special and important year - and finished its run in the mid 2000’s. It was one of the first Rolex models to feature a sapphire crystal.

YEAR: 1995.

SERIAL:  W

CASE: The previously polished 36mm oyster case is excellent showing only very light wear from use. The lugs are thick with the brushed finish appreciated on the anterior portion of all 4 lugs. The fluted, white gold bezel is in terrific condition. 

DIAL: The original white dial has aged to a very subtle cream or beige. The lume plots are all present and perfectly located near the baton hour markers. The patina on the hands and dial match perfectly. 

MOVEMENT: Automatic caliber 3135. Service history is unknown. The jumping date feature operates appropriately. The watch winds crispy, sets and runs. 

BRACELET: The original white gold and stainless steel jubilee bracelet has minimal or light stretch to it. The stretch does not detract from the appearance but does add to the comfortability in its daily wear.
