Vacheron & Constantin 4073 - Pink Gold

CASE: The 34mm solid 18kt pink gold case is in good shape. The case has a very light polish in its lifetime yet the case is incredibly strong. The polishing that was done to the case over the years remains only on the midcase and the bezel. The back of the case and the caseback itself remain unpolished. The hallmarks are easily identified and remain quite deep. The back of the case strongly illustrates the original frosted finish. The midcase faintly illustrates the maisons original satin finish. The caseback illustrates the original brushed finish. The case is 2x signed and matching. The case is completed by its original, pink gold, flats crown. 

DIAL:  A very rare matte silver dial with engraved hard enamel signature, open minute railroad track and subsidiary seconds. The maisons signature "Vacheron & Constantin Geneve", the subsidiary seconds markers and outer minute track were done in engraved enamel. The dial appears to be free of any patina, scratches, blemishes or otherwise imperfections. The hour hand was replaced in the past with a yellow gold version. The difference is subtle on the wrist however can be discerned under close inspection. Should the buyer desire, a pink gold hour hand can be sourced to match the rest of the handset and eliminate this issue. 

MOVEMENT: Vacheron manually wound caliber 453. Vacheron's finishing prowess that they had come to be known for by the mid twentieth century is on full display as we see a myriad of finishing techniques including cotes de Genève, pearlage, anglage and black polishing. The service history is unknown. The watch was placed on a timegrapher which illustrated that the watch is keeping time within 49 seconds per day and has an amplitude of 224. The wtach can be serviced for approximately $325 plus parts. If serviced the watch will be warrantied for one year. The buyer is only responsible for shipping.
